There are seven days left in November.
How are your novels going?

Now posting chunks of novel on invisiblewires. Friend at your own risk. Journal will self-destruct in December. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental. (Ha!)

I've posted my first NANOWRIMO excerpt here. This is the beginning of chapter one, though much of the rest of it will be written out of order, as I don't have a plot, only events and need some damn inspiration.

I'm only 7524 words off the pace!

I've been drawing some solace from Happy Endings by Margaret Atwood. Take a well deserved break and give it a read. It'll only take a minute.

(more or less x-posted to my blog.

only 2.5 hours left before you can start writing...

here's some meaty sustinance for your writing brain...

What's in a Name?

I, personally, enjoy the two NaNoWrImO titles that the person who started the thread pointed out:

God Mode X: Run like hell
WTF BBQ: or Dirge of the Damned

Please, take a moment to post your "working title" here as an archival sort of thing... if you change the title, repost it as often as you like.  i honestly think it will be interesting to see what our novels become and how they stray/don't stray from this first working title.

mine:

beezers's Novel: The Yet UnNamed Cyberpunk/NeoRen Fantasy Novel.... OF DOOM.

i'm always a procrastinator. i just checked this community for the first time in a week, to find a hive of activity. it's great.

i have absolutely no real idea what i want to write about. i know that it will be a sci-fi/fantasy piece... or at least something more surreal than last year. i want to create my own world and i want it to be disjointed and random, so i think that's a start. but i'm waking today to find myself all excited and nervous... excited because i love this kind of challenge. nervous because, no matter how much i tell me self that i don't give a flying fuck about who reads my work, i always have the small voice in the back of my skull of self-doubt.

now it's time for randomness and inspiration:

i just took a drive so i could see the leaves and the sun that is blaring outside first-hand. it's crisp and cold and the kind of day i just can't get enough of. i was listening to Meg's autumn mix when i heard this:

"I'm a county lineman on a high line on a high line. so will be my grandson, there are powerlines in our bloodline." -the Engine Driver, The Decembrists

it got to me. i had to listen to the song twice.
